Bright Eyes - Jejune Stars directed by Lance Acord.
This might be my favourite song off the new record. The intro really reminds me of Cursive.
Letting Off The Happiness - Bright Eyes
I can’t believe this was released 13 years ago. There are some seriously depressing songs on this record. I love it so much.
On Wednesday, I went to see Bright Eyes. It was beyond incredible. I had seen them play once at the Koko and later on that year at Le Bataclan in Paris when they were touring for Cassadaga, and those shows were wonderful. But the setlists do not compare to the one from Wednesday. They played quite a few songs from Lifted, Fevers and Mirrors and Digital Ash. The new songs sounded amazing live. In general, that band make the best sounds. It is impossible to not be entirely in love with Conor Oberst. Hearing him sing the recent songs as well as the ones he wrote about 16 years ago just as convincingly makes me very happy. Sometimes I forget that one of the reasons I love Bright Eyes so much is because of how beautiful the lyrics are. It’s such an obvious fact to me that I’ve taken it for granted. So when I was hearing those songs played live, remembering how great they are, it was almost as if I was hearing them for the first time. After a gig like that, I struggle to understand why anyone would dislike Bright Eyes.
The story is in the soil, keep your ear to the ground
The full stream of The People’s Key. It’s amazing. They are musical geniuses.
I think I am about to be overwhelmed. If this really is the last album then I’m going to be quite sad. Bring on the 9th of February at Rescue Rooms.
